i am looking for a script that will make a drawbridge. the drawbridge will act as the door to my castle as well. is there somewhere where i can get this type of script? or if someone would script one for me I'd be willing to pay for that as well. i have tried using the scripts that have come with my doors but the pivot point isn't at the edge.

I can do that for you, but the scripts are in world and I am at work... If no one else will do it, and the following advice doesn't help, then IM me sometime in world.

It will take a little tweaking, but the easiest way to do it is actually to use the existing llSetLocalRotation() door scripts, but cut your drawbridge prim in half (0.375 to 0.875) so the centre of the whole prim is on the edge of the visible part. This means your drawbridge can only be 5m long though.

The other way is to have a 'hinge' prim as root and a linked child bridge prim that also rotates.

Before you go making a prim, then resizing it to half it's size, that's not what Eloise Pasteur was talking about. (Silly me) I was about to post a message that said that way would not work. But What Eloise meant was to use the "Cut" feature in the edit panel.

Silly ME because I'd never thought of that. I usually use the hinge method, making an invisible prim that goes along the edge of the door and linking the door to this invisible prim (use "View --> Highlight Transparent" from the drop down menu so you can see it) Selecting the invisible hing prim LAST so it is the "Root prim".

Another method also results in a half visible prim, where you have a texture that is one half door texture, and one half alpha channel (invisible texture). This means tho the axel is still in the middle, it appears as if it is at the edge.

I don't think this door script would be ideal without some tweaking for a drawbridge, but when I am in world later, I will be more than happy to share this one with you. Or you can look on the Wiki for the automatic door script..... lemme see if I can find that real quick... yep...

look at this script for some ideas to tinker on

I hope this helps.
