I haven't been in SL much for the last year so I'm out of the loop.
What is the state of scripting performance in the latest release candidate? Mono was a huge boost last year. Have things gotten even faster since then? Are there improvements to the performance of controlling camera views and such?

new touch handler to detect touch position on the face, lots more stability in MONO and less errors, state changes aren't as painful in mono now, but list processing may be more painful very soon (pain = slow) plus a new suite of http controls including handling requests into SL (and a few new constants) and I now have a stable way to test by script if a script is running in MONO or LSO (llToLower on accented charaters is treated differently, because MONO handles unicode and and LSO doesn't (without heavy adjustment)... still hella faster.
oh and they're looking and installing script limits per parcel/region, but that's a few server changes away... and MONO llGetFreeMemory is borked and unreliable)
that's all off the top of my head
ETA I think we already had region say, prim type sculpt, and glow access by then
