Attachment awareness of other attachments?

Is there a way for a worn attachment to determine what other attachments are being worn by an AV? I would like to make two attachments A and B, which implement certain identical functions, but I'd like for attachment B to automatically turn off these functions if the AV is already wearing attachment A. Possible?

yup, you need to have one of the atachments listening a specific channel for a message and the second one say the message on the chat channel when attached

Would llMessageLinked work here? Avatars with attachments are treated as linked objects I think.

No, they're not linked to each other... Shame, but that's one of the delights of SL.

*sigh* Nothing better? (I was afraid of that). I was hoping for a solution that didn't involve scripting *both* attachments, ie, it'd be nice if attachment B could sense the name of attachment A and take appropriate action. But I know some things just aren't possible in LSL.

Thanks,

I would say have a sensor looking for that object, but unfortunately once it's attached it loses its name and the name becomes that of the avie wearing it :(
