Hello,
I am trying to make an object that will attach to an av (on the left or right pectoral probably) and display a textured object over the wearer's head. Is this doable? I assume I would have to get the avatar's height and position the cube with the texture appropriately. I just need a nudge in the right direction rather than a script.
Thanks! SJ

stick it in the head ...
you will probably need to make a small prim as root, and your cube linked above that, so when you attach it in your head it will look like its floating x amount of space over your head, once the object has been attached in your head it will default there when choosing the generic "attach" pie menu option
its been a while since i messed with it so please play around and post your findings for everyone
also if you want an object that is sitting in world, to attach on some certain event you will need to ask permission and after permission is granted use llAttachToAvatar()

I did some rooting around and found that although you can get a rough estimate of an avatar's height, it does not take thing like hats, hair, etc. into account. If someone had a giant sized avatar it would not be useful to try and find their height. Rather than try to come up with some script intensive solution, I am going to put the tag object a bit over two meters, since most avatars fall into that range. They can always tweak the height themselves if need be.
thanks, SJ
