I am new to this game, and have just recently started to build. I made a simple axe, and would like to know how to position it so I can hold it. Right now, when I click attach to>Right hand, it holds it by the blade.... how can I fix this.

Once you've attached it to your right hand, right-click on it and select "Edit". A little window will appear and the axe will be highlighted. You can then move it about by dragging the arrows on the object, or, if you hold down SHIFT + CTRL, rotate it by dragging the little coloured wheels that you see.

I find that it's best to go into local mode to edit attachments. To do this you just click the "More" button on the little window, then there should be a drop-down menu that currently says "Avatar". Click on this and change it to "Local" (I think that's what it's called, it's the next one down anyway). Then you can move it back and forwards and around in an easier way.

Once you've moved it into the right position and at the right angle, it will stay like that whenever you "wear" it afterwards, you should only have to do that once. Also, anyone you give it to will also be able to "wear" it and have it appear at the same position and angle.
