I need a script to make a thing bright over all the land

If anyone have a script to put on a tree for example. We would like thaat he appear over all the land or almost at incredible range.

You can adjust the properties of any modfiable prim in the Edit pane, without using scripts. You can set fullbright, glow, and light. Some people use low graphics settings and can't see glow or light. You can see (at this time) up to six lights if your settings enable you to see local lights.

If your tree is not modifiable you can make a prim, make it phantom and totally invisible, and make it give out light. That prim can shine light on your tree.

Rez a prim and experiment.

Please, please, PLEASE be kind to your neighbors!!! The Glow setting is EVIL. If it is turned up high, it produces a blinding light that cuts through everything and can be seen for incredible distances. For some reasons that still elude me, some people can't actually see glow. Unfortunately those people are the ones most likely to set it to its maximum setting as they wonder why they aren't seeing any effect. If you are a kindhearted person, please think many times before turning on glow.

Better still an animation for some bean-bags I am making.

True. Sometimes you can get lucky and find one in the forum archives or the Scripting Library. That's why I suggested those spots. Otherwise, this forum is a place for people who are interested in polishing their own scripting skills. Sometimes a question will catch someone's fancy and a new sample script will pop out of nowhere. If you need a brand new script though, you can't usually expect to come here and have someone just create one for free.

Well, so much for XStreet, bought animations about half an hour ago and they have never arrived. I can no way to get in contact with the seller either.

The Linden script tutorial group don't have a good opinion of it either, apparently many things are never delivered.

This diverts the thread out of normal Scripting Tips territory..... but while you're in XStreetSL, check your account to see what sort of flag they've put on your transaction. It may still be pending, so the amount you paid is still in a holding tank while their servers are trying to complete the deal. I had a purchase hang up for several hours recently because the vendor had gone out of business and the product was no longer available, even though the listing was still in their system. The system figured it out eventually and cancelled the sale.
