What's going on with these sites?

lslwiki's last updates are 90% spam attacks, including some on previously worthwhile information. If I'm not the only one stumbling across discussion pages with over 200 spam-hustle and click-this-link-to-get-fucked-one-way-or-another comments, then it's no wonder it went down for hours today. Is anyone cleaning this up and banning these assholes?

The Official LSL Portal in comparison has practically nothing to say, but it says it in VERY BIG FONTS, like it's going for max visibility for the blind. You'd think this would be the Linden's place to add parenthetical comments in discussion; explanations, promises of future plans, even in-house jokes, but the discussion pages have less to say than the main nodes.

Long, very sad story but you are correct that there hasn't been much if any maintenance there for a long time. Don't even know if it is possible to secure that site against the spam bots.

Osgeld hosts a mirror of it and has a downloadable version.

LSLEditor has it's own abbreviated version of Osgeld's built in or gives you the ability to connect to the wiki of choice.

And you forgot to mention how painfully slow the official one has been lately. ~sigh~

I've was reverting as many as I could for awhile, but I've just given up. Even a simple CAPTCHA box for edits would instantly stop the spam. I had started working on my own full LSL wiki, and within two days I was getting spam constantly. Someone after the wiki's specificly?

wiki software is an easy target for spammers...

I feel your pain... right now in fact, because it's now taking an average of 5-7 clicks to get through to a forum age as well..... and then they load with excruciating slowness

Yep. I don't really use any wiki for reference anymore personally. I have mine heavily noted and use it. Use the others for links for people here. But I have started posting a handful of scripts to the official wiki and started a user page. This way everyone has access to them instead of just the ones with payment info. I plan on adding more and also want to make a tutorial on setting up the latest version of Scite with autoindent and Strife's lsl.properties file and how to use includes.

nvm, I'm a dunce, and so is LL for not allowing no-payment-info people at least read only access to the forums.

on the bright side, it's good to see more contributers to the wiki... on the downside, how will they know to get there =(
