So I'm working on a sea shell. I wannt an avatar to be able to put it to their ear and hear the ocean - but I don't necessarily want everyone around the avataer to hear the ocean.
Is there a way to script the "play locally" functiion?

No, you can't force the sound to only play on the client-side, but you can limit the audible range using llTriggerSoundLimited().
