I have a script that updates its configuration from a note card being dropped on it. This works ok but only whilst the object is 'not' locked. If the object is locked then I can't drop a note on it. Is there a way to get round this? I choose notes to configure the object as it seemed a nice neat solution to configuration and gives a more natural feel.

Locking an object, by design, prevents the object from being changed.
