Hi guys,
Is there any way of detecting where someone has teleported FROM when they arrive at your land? Or, is there any way of detecting if they teleported by pressing the teleport button in the Classifieds, or on the Map, or on my Profile, or from a Landmark?
One suggestion to how this could be accomplished was given in the Resident Answers, by having intermediate teleport points, with a visitor detector there, and after visiting that greeting area, with the onward teleport to the final destination, I can tell how my customers are arriving at my place from different routes, and optimise my marketing approach.
I thought you guys, with your lateral thinking, might have a few more suggestions.

Rock Just set up each of them to have a slightly different arrival positions and use a collision detection prim at the arrival point ?

From: Newgate Ludd Just set up each of them to have a slightly different arrival positions and use a collision detection prim at the arrival point ? Thanks Newgate. I was also thinking of having slightly different arrival points, to avoid intermediate teleport hubs, and having them say 10m apart, with a sensor on each arrival point, with a range of 4m. Your idea can reduce the spacing still further by having collision detection. But how accurate is teleporting? If I tp to 132, 132, 22 will I hit the spot, or can it be +/- 1 m, due to no decimal places being used? If I tp to 132.3, 132.6, 22.1 will I hit that spot precisely? Thanks Rock

It's relative...I wouldn't consider it 100% accurate simply because any movement the AV is doing prior to the teleport could carry over as well as animations, or if they're flying they'll come in above the ground, etc.
You could just put a prim sized at 1,1,1 somewhere around waist height or something and I think that would catch 90% of them.

The biggest problem as Tiarnalalon mentioned would be vertical offset due to flying. and also the possibility of people wandering from one arrival point into another
