there wasn't enough in your snippet to see why it's only changing the root by x amount, because what you've got should be skipping the llSetLinkColor call completely.

if I understand what you are trying to do, you want to set only prims you choose to the color selected, yes?

you might take a look at this
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Void_Singer/Programs#v7-D_Enh._Color_Picker

RE: the problem posting, see this thread (I'm guessing it's color vectors with a number after the < sign... ad a space after all instances of < and it will probably go through (assuming it doesn't include one of the other word combos listed in that post.)

^_^ thanks for the help, Void. I saw your post on the submitting error, but as you can see... there's multiple lines of text, I figured an image would be faster. If it's an issue I can go back and check each line and character... though it seems a little frivolous @_@

Also,I did check out he Wiki before (that page exactly actually XD ) but it was't much help. I'm essentially making a helmet with accents. I'd like only the accents to change color instead of the whole thing or the person having to change each accent individually... so sort of like these four boxes I set up.

All 4 changed with that script from the Wiki even though I took the script out of the top right one. I have a pair of shoes that have the same sort of idea with the accents, ad the root prim as a "controller" script and the accents a "receiver".

here's the whole code I'm using

that script is intended to be single, you only need one copy and then all the prims that share the name of the prim within the linkset it's in will be recolored the same. if you are only wanting a single prim to be recolored you COULD use that script and make the name unique, but it's horribly ineffecient (to use that script for a single prim)

the predecessor to that script (with the menu but without the multi prim targeting) is also on the forums here, IIRC the OP on that thread was Rhaorth Antonelli about a menued color script.

ETA:
Caught your update... at a glance that script is set to either color all prims, or just the one it's in, and no others regardless or the presence of other scripts in other prims. sort of an EVERYONE or JUST_ME type deal... if you're looking to change just 3 out of 4, my style will work for you (just strip out the the part that grabs the prim numbers, and the part that applies the colors, and plug them into yours if you prefer the menu style on yours [or vice versa])

Totally, some preset colors would be nice in a menu if I can get that to coincide with the script from the Wiki, I bypassed the naming part in that one XD; such a dunce, sorry about that. It works wonders though! Whee! Let's see if I can add some presets into it...

thanks btw, your name's really pretty and you rock hardcore < 333
