It's problematic, because all anims have to return the av to where they started. They are loops. As far as I can tell, you have have a very long animation that would be custom made to fit a specific pool.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not a scripter or an animater... But I think you could unsit the avatar after doing the jump and dive, and propel them slighly forward and down so they would end up in the water, but it might be messy..

There is an inworld diving pool. It being coming up on 4am here I'm not going back to find out it's details right now, but I have a feeling Abramelin's poofers and more store or whatever it was called is where I got it.

Check it out and then ask the creator. I'll try to IM you with details when I get in world next.

Ferran Brodsky has a scripted diving board at Phobos Designs in Chaos. Just teleport into Chaos and it is right there.

Diving Board

I scripted a Diving Board at "Swapps Beach Club" (use find option).

- Touch the board and choose a Jump from llDialog-Menu.

or/and

- walk to the end of the board
- The board ask you for animate-permission
- AFTER accepting you will jump up while the animation is running.

The only problem i get is:
everytime when you are fall back to the bord again (because you didnt target the water :))), the script will ask you for permission again.
But this looks cool whith the correct animation.

Any better ideas are welcome :)

The animations i did into the board a very bad .. but is will work as i descripted.
I still have no skills in animation... his poser makes me crazy ... it never did what i want ... grrrr

This is pretty much correct. I generally propel them slightly up and forward though, and then they drop into the water. It can be a little erratic at times, Particularly if the pool is shallow. Generally though it works well.

My one can be found at my shop in isere.

I 'made' a diving board but I didnt use animations. I made it out of 2 prims. The first prim is parallel to the ground and phantom. The second prim is angled down slightly and contains the LL trampoline script and also invisible using a clear texture. Now you put the trampoline/hidden prim directly below the 1st prim (diving board/visible prim) but angled. Now when people walk onto it, they actually drop thru it slightly and hit the trampoline/angled board and bounce/dive out into the pool/water.

I think the board is quite fun even though there are no diving animations. Adjust the angle of the board and the force in the trampoline script to get the desired height/distance you want. If you wish to see my diving board in game go visit my house in the SE corner of the Carolina sim. The diving board is a wooden plank on my pier across from my boat.

To me its a simple, free and fun method for those of us who prefer some chaos. And you can actually bounce a few times on the board before you hit the 'big bounce' and go flying.

Surreal, Ferran did a great job on that one.

Thanks for the tips, everyone!

My newest version of Divingboard is now available at SLexchange.com , too.

You can choose an existing animation or drop your own.
So far i get only good rates about it.
Let me know your suggestions. Thanks

I was Swapps neighbor when the working diving board was being created.

I was one of the lucky ones to take a test dive off of it. After a few loose teeth and a few overshots to the side...lol..i must say it works just dandy.

BRAVO on that one. It's worth buying.
