OK, so a friend of mine has this HUD and used it to give me a hug. I accepted to give my permission to play the animation and got my hug. Now, I come to find out she has many more animations and can use them on me at will with no further permission requests. Although it can be entertaining (for her more then for me) to have me under her control I would like to find out how I can somehow cancel the permissions that I originally gave her. Is this possible?

Other than charming her into removing her HUD (which hopefully will reset upon attach or on_rez), you're out of luck. Just be grateful that it only asked for PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION, not PERMISSION_DEBIT; for that, you'd want a pre-nup.

the effect doesn't go away after you one of you relogs? if not that could be a serious issue. if so then a TP or sim crossing might do the trick.... still... annoying.

This is a longs standing oversight. Sadly it has everything to do with script state and nothing to do with anything else, so relogging won't even help.
You can stay two sims away, though. The script can't trigger animations unless your av is in the same sim or a "child av" in a neighboring sim. |

Hmm.. normally these kind of permissions are gone as soon as your friend hugs someone else... Sounds more like a bug.

An object can be designed to keep permission to animate your avatar FOREVER, just as result of you just sitting on it once. You could trick a Linden into sitting on such an object, and then animate their avatar at the next Town Hall. Maybe then we could have some way to manage permissions that we have given to scripts (:

But that makes perfect sense now that I think about it Lyn. I have a feeling she wasn't using the HUD on anyone else. The whole thing did get me worried about other things that could be accomplished because she has literally had animation permission over my av for over a week now. Still think that LL should give us an option to revoke all given permissions somewhere in the client because this can obviously be abused if someone wanted to. |

I don't know if your friend has this... but the arc hud will make it so you accept it once and it can forever be used on you. I have the arc hud, and so does my hubby, and we use it to mess with each other, but we don't abuse it. She might have that?

From what I'm getting out of this thread, the HUD will probably only works like that on one person at a time. So I guess if it ever asks you for permission again that's how you'll know he's been using his HUD with someone else. LOL Although I guess is could have multiple script to control multiple people. |

Yes, I recently made a soul gem item which is designed to take advantage of this oversight. It's lots of fun with my friends (and, no, it's not for sale; I don't sell anything which could potentially be used to grief as its main function).
No, relogging doesn't help, and the state is saved in inventory so I can re-rez it anytime I want and play with my victims. ![]() |

I have created a feature request in JIRA for a Tools choice to revoke all animation permissions, VWR-2326 -- feel free to vote for it, instructions on doing that below, apologies if you've seen them 20 times before. I searched and wasn't able to find any other JIRA entry referring to this.
Yes, it would be a little bit of a pain to regrant perms to all objects that you actually want to have permissions, but really that's a small price to pay to get out of such a pernicious griefing scenario. Not that I think your lady friend is griefing you, OP! But it is a nasty loophole. _________________ The JIRA login page is at https://jira.secondlife.com/cas/login?service=https%3A%2F%2Fjira.secondlife.com%2F secure%2FDashboard.jspa -- If you know the bug number (in this case VWR-2326] then enter it in the "Quick Search" field in the upper right of the JIRA screen. -- When the bug description comes up, look on the panel on the left side of the screen for the section called "Operations" (probably the last section) -- The last item in that section should be "Voting". A single click there will register your vote. The page will change to indicate that you now have voted for this bug. ALL DONE! ------------- The next time you log into Jira, you will see a set of links on the entry page like this: "My Unresolved Reported Issues | Votes " Click on the "Votes" part of the link and you will see the status of all issues you have voted for. Also, whenever you're looking at a bug description, in the far left panel you will see a line titled "Votes". This is the number of people who have voted for the issue, and if you click "View" there you can see their names. So you can IM your friends who haven't yet voted to do so |

Also, btw, if you vote for this you might also be interested in VWR-1750, "Add Revoke Debit Permissions".

I would like to see a complete solution set for managing permissions we've given to scripts. I don't know how much of a problem that would be to add, though. Would it require lots of region to region communication where there previously was none, and/or completely changing the script runtime permissions system? Can someone who knows the innards of this system offer some insight?

This Affection Pack
http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=47438 and Brutality Pack http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=52790 both work that way, once you have been given permissions once for a hug, you can continue animating your partner or victim. And in my experience it seemed to continue working with more then one avatar at a time. Lots of fun ![]() _____________________

Ok, I'm going to drift off topic a little but hey, it's my thread so I figure I'm allowed.
![]() Does anyone know of a really good couples HUD that you can put your own animations in and easily adjust positioning. I'd like to get one and am willing to pay a lot for one that works well but I've been disappointed with all the HUDs I've tried so far. They are either not adjustable or you have to edit a notecard, and try again which cam take forever. some type of real time adjusting would be awesome. |
