how do you change the color of your object's text.. insted of being green.

green is default for objects ... you can change it in the preferances menu, but it only effects you

It's possible to change the color of a speaking object's text, because there are "ventriloquist" gadgets that can spoof cat to make it look like people are saying things they aren't really saying.

Somebody must know how to do this, and if anyone can post the answer, I'd love to know how it's done.

Um, it's not... but if it's a constrained series of short replies you can use llDialog to have the object say things in your name.

llDialog functions as if it's the person that clicks the button saying the phrase, not the object that contains the script.

if you don;t mind the script warning icon popping up above the the object.

Well, somebody must know how to do this, because there are gadgets that do this on SLExchange, and I had one used on me a couple of months ago.

I've seen things that do this, but they still are greenish.

I've seen those too, and bought one recently (felt lazy that day), but I know it's possible to emit white colored text creating the appearance that somebody who either isn't present or didn't actually say it is speaking.
