Solar system script?

Hi there. I'm a complete novice when it comes to scripting, so please bear with me if I don't make too much sense here.

I'm trying to make a model of a fictional solar system of mine, and I was wondering if there was a script that could be used to make one sphere orbit another sphere, as in planets orbiting a star. And maybe even have moons orbiting the planets?

Any suggestions or informtion anyone can offer. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

I believe Jeffery Gomez created a solar system a few months back, it is at yadni's junkyard (use find-> places) for 1 linden if I remember correctly. Hope that helps :) .

Is the solar system (in the junkyard) open source? I'd like to know how it works.

Yes, I believe it is, if it is not, I am sure Jeff would be willing to help you with the rotation script (or I will myself if he doesnt mind). It is a simple physical llMoveToTarget call with a bit of math to make it move in an almost perfect circle.

To confirm, it is open source. And great.

If they're moving in circular orbits, or orbits that are indistinguishable from circular by eye you could also do it with suitably generated texutres that are being rotated...

Someone gave me a copy of Jeffery's solar system. Very impresive I must say, ans exactly what I'm looking for. I just need someone to help me figure out how the scrips work so i can adust it for my own system.
