Apartment Security

Greetings. Haven't needed to post in a while, however here's that horrid old subject that seems to get everyones feathers ruffled.

Please read this carefully before making a judgement call on what I'm asking about regarding a security script. I know there are tons of people that hate them in general, however I am posing a general and a script question about it.

I've made some spaced out apartment pods: spaced out so they won't get local chat crosstalk. So about 25m apart in all directions.

I've thought about some sort of volume detect security for tenants.
I know there are those that will want this.

To simplify I had an idea to use volume detect, would only take 3 prims to fill the apartment, and turn them non-phantom if "invaded" upon. This would also eliminate camera-clickers / sit-boxers trying to select individual items in the apartment. (I think)

Any other ideas or concerns as to not violating any TOS, hacking too many people off, or otherwise information they might want to pass along?

Thanks everyone,
- Haplo

*Note* I know plenty of non-scripters read these forums from searches: making a prim non phantom will simply "smush" you out of it once you move as long as it's solid and won't shoot you away like using an actual push or eject.

I guess to more define my question... does my approach sound like a good one, or does anyone else have better ideas they currently use?

Should I use a refined sensor instead, etc. Any input or thoughts would be appreciated.

I am obviously not the only one with apartments and such. As a noob to having such a thing under my supervision I want to be the best landlord possible seeing as how I've been more of a scripter / builder as opposed to a owner / proprietor up to this point.

Thanks,
- Hap

the idea is basically sound, though there are situation in which it either wouldn't be optimal, or would fail

scenario 1
mixed av's authorized and not, if it goes physical, it bounces everyone.

scenario 2
av sitting on object moves that object into the apartment, the system has no effect on them.
