How would I adjust the Z axes on a position in my menu so the pose ball shows above the cushion without adjust the position itself ? …. The position is fine … but after I save and select that sit … the pose ball rezz under the cushion. TIA

For the record ...

The only known solutions to this are to redo the animation (adjust hip height and re-upload) or else to modify ~ball script to use a lower value for Z coordinate in the sit target (llSitTarget() call).

There are two disadvantages to changing ~ball this way.

1) Updates to newer code versions are more hassle, because you need to change the new ~ball script

2) Adjusting poses is harder, because when you rotate, you're rotating the poseball, not the av. Using the default poseball offset, the ball is usually near the center of the av (unless the anim is unusual in having a big hip offset).

These apply to MLPV2 as well.

This question comes up a lot. Maybe I can think of a way to allow this as an option in MLPV2. Earlier I was pessimistic about this, but I think it might not be so bad. The best solution would be per-menu or per-pose offsets, but don't hold your breath for that!

The joke's on me. I see "MLP" in a thread and wonder why they're talking about "My Little Pony" in the forums, then I open it up and it's something COMPLETELY different.

I assume you mean the buried poseball problem.

To fix, rez your MLP. Right-click, Open. Drag ~ball out onto the ground. Edit or open it, and double-click on ~ball script in its contents.

In there, you'll find a call to llSitTarget(). One of the parameters is a vector, something like <0., 0., .01>. Change this to <0., 0., -.25> -- that would raise the balls about a quarter of a meter (the difference between the third number in the two vectors).

Actually, it doesn't "raise the balls", it lowers the avatar, so you can raise the balls yourself. Just be forewarned that it will throw all your poses off; you'll have to redo the whole set. Also, adjusting poses will be a bit trickier, since they won't rotate around the center of the avatar. (They always rotate around the poseballs, which are usually near the center of the avatar -- but not always, depending on the animation. Now we're moving the poseball down, and the avatar will move in an arc around the poseball.)

Went right over my head, too -- perhaps because I have only a son, and he's 28. And there was no MLP back when my older sister watched cartoons -- she would have preferred Fantastic 4 anyway.

It's not the name I would have chosen, with a euphemism and a misplaced modifier. Not to mention that this forum won't allow searching 3-letter words! Regardless, my hat's off to Miffy who got this ball rolling, and who was encouraging to me as well, despite the impact it may have on his business.

Isn't that Nature's revenge for having been a teenage boy?

Oops, I think I goofed: the value should be positive, not negative. Try half a meter, which should make a pretty obvious difference.

Thanks again Lear, i did what you suggested, had to actually change the z value to -.5 in order for the balls to appear above the cushion, but all is well now!

btw, didn't realize you were an old fart (28 year old kid)!
i can say that cuz i am too (29 year old daughter) *smiles sweetly* and i too remember my little pony spread all over her bedroom floor. lol

Good, I got it right the first time! Makes sense: negative numbers make the avatar go down. This means you have to move the ball up to compensate. Repeat to self 3 times ...

And I may be an old fart, but you're a lovely and desirable woman in the prime of her lives! :)
