llGetObjectDetails no good for inventory items..workaround?

I would love to be able to get at object descriptions that are items
in inventory. I tried the usual llGetInventoryKey() to get a key,
and then made a call to llGetObjectDetails(theKey, [OBJECT_NAME, OBJECT_DESC])
to see if I could get the description.

No dice - is there a workaround?

I am hoping this is simply a bug that will get fixed soon. I cant think of
why you would allow an inventory name to be retrieved, but not the
description.

Of course, string llGetInventoryDesc(integer type, integer number)
would be peachy too.

hehe ya i wish i could have my own functions too custom made for my scripts
but you could temp rez the item and grab the description then llDie
