UUID for objects question

I don't know if I've seen this anywhere before, so I apologize in advance if this is a duplicate question (I tried searching the forums to no avail).

Basically, once an object is rezzed, can its UUID ever change? And as an extension to that, when an object is re-rezzed either from being taken into inventory or whatever, does the UUID change or is it still the same?

Inventory items all have different UUIDs even if it's the same object. All rezzed copies have different UUIDs, and it stays the same until it's de-rezzed.
