Glowing lightbulbs, car headlights, lava?

I have been on SL for a little while now and I have seen cars, avis, that have lightbulbs that actually glow at night. I found this to look really cool and I was wondering if it was a script that caused this. I found I have a lamp in my inventory but I cant copy the bulb in it. Does anyone have a script for such a realistic glowing feature?

Set the material to "Light" in the editor window.

Oh, and talk with Starax if you find the chance. He's created some of the best lighting effects I've ever seen.

I tend to have light turned off in my preferences, the lag hit is too heavy for me, and so it doesn't work for everyone, at least as I understand it.

I think a single well built particle will do the same thing - I know I use one as a flashing LED type effect, and if the emission rate and lifetime match you can get a single light effect the same way.

Correct. This is a property of the particle system. In this case, PSYS_PART_EMISSIVE_MASK.

Bit more advanced than what was asked, I think - but doable. :)
