I am working on a chair for a class I would like to teach. The class is meant to focus on the building of the chair, and the scripts and poses would just be added to bring them together. I am wondering if anyone can help me with the scripts and poses, as I am just a beginner at that stuff. So here is the layout. I have a prim that will be the back of the chair, and one for the feet. I would attach a prim that would be the handle to launch or recline the chair. When the handle is launched 3 things would happen to the chair: 1) the handle rotates up/back 2) the foot prim of the chair comes up 3) the back prim of the chair reclines. This is the pose part - avatar started by sitting in chair. When this is activated their position would change to lying back and feet come up. How difficult is this? Should I give up while behind? Thanks for any help you can give. BTW. I am at a student teacher at TUi. I would appreciate that any scripts that you post to help me out, you allow me to use and pass out in class. Thanks.

Start with a simpler project.

scripting, animation, building, all in a very complicated project taught by a beginner. Hmmmmm. I'd say you're in for a few weeks of a tutorial to just grasp the basics of all that yourself. Why not start out with a few building assignments for SIMPLE items and maybe throw in a basic sit script for a chair or door opening script for a cabinet. thats my 2 lindens worth. Oh, and good luck.

I'd also second the seperate examples, which combine to create the chair, so that you can teach it steps and also get the benifit of teaching the combing of different script ideas to acheive a unified result
