I need to film an avatar in a field of grass and I can get the grass just fine and it looks just like I want..I just need it to live for more than 30 secs.
Is there anyway to do this? To extend the age of a particle beyond the 30 sec limit?

Could be this line in the script. Determines how long the particle script should live for, overall. (Not each particle emitted.)
PSYS_SRC_MAX_AGE, 0.0, Change to zero so it does NOT stop.
(I probably should not answer script questions. )

Very kind of you to respond tho.
But sigh, it seems that I can make them live for 50 secs and that is all.
Maybe massive temp rez.

Maybe massive temp rez. Are you sure they ARE NOT temp rezzed? I have had particles last much longer then 50 seconds. And coincidently the average life of a temp rez is 50-55 seconds.

Are you creating this grass with llParticleSystem? If so, why not let it continuously re-create the grass? As the old grass dies, llParticleSystem will replace it with new grass. Sort of like the real thing, only faster.

Maybe massive temp rez. The wiki says there is an upper limit of 30 seconds. If you can get 50 you're probably doing well. I wonder if LL changed the limit.

Thanks everyone.
Yes, you can get particles to last about 60 sec; I don't know if they changed it...it may be that it has always been that way but LL just didn't want people rezzing particles for the full minute.
I have tried the very fast rezzing of many particles but there is too much flicker to film.
Thanks again for suggestions...I'm going to have to use prim grass for the close shots and the particle grass in the distance.
I just thought someone might have had a work around.

multiple random dispersant rezzors. although that may still be a flicker issue... although a blurry grass texture may melp with that (no hard edges)
