Is there a script that can be put in an item to block the sounds from my neighbors? I live in an apartment and many of my neighbors have items and/or gestures that constantly make noise.

Thank you.

There is suppose to be, but I've never personally played with them. I'll post the links below that are on the LSL wiki for you.

llTriggerSoundLimited: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlTriggerSoundLimited

llSetSoundRadius: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetSoundRadius

so look at those, might be what your going for, especially the llSetSoundRadius. HOpe that helps, as I've hardly ever played with these functions, if at all.

Yes, you could certainly suggest that your neighbors use those functions. On the other hand, there's no script you can use on your end to block sounds that they generate. I think there IS a parcel option though. Limits sounds you hear to only those generated from within your parcel. Not logged in now, so I can't look it up specifically. Look around in the "About Land..." dialog.

I don't know about blocking them with a script but i know you can reduce the range you hear them in your preferences if i'm correct. One of these: Droppler effect, distance factor, rolloff factor in Audio & video. It certainly doesn't help your visitors but it does get you rid of those gestures.

I might be wrong, been a while since i played with those settings, but look it up. Hope this was usefull :P
