hello, ok so ive looked threw the history of this forum and ive found a few really cool looking scripts for camping, you guys are so tallented, ive leart a lot by trying these out, but theres a few thing id like from a script that aint in those ones, i read that theres a way to make it ask the camper a question say every 30 minutes and if they dont answer they get booted? that sounds wicked, how do you do that?

ok so what im looking for is a menu driven camp script, that you can set the time, amount, group or no group, money limit, time limit, owner bootable and that askes a question, is that asking too much hehe, ive looked everywere inworld and im having no luck, any help would be awsume, should i post the script i have already, i got it from this forum so im guessing you guys will have it already :)

thanx in advance for any help or advice

Cheery :)

Yes, that could be done... but my question to you is why would you want to do that?

It just seems like it would go against the basic reason to have a camping chair/whatever in the first place to me. Camping Chairs are there to increase your traffic or dwell, which is a result of having people spend time on your land.

From the SL Knowledge Base
From: someone
Traffic is a number for each parcel which is based on the amount of Residents who visited, and the time spent on that parcel out of their total time inworld that day. It's calculated using a complex algorithm.

Traffic does not result in popular parcel owners being paid.

For further historical context, please see "Traffic" in the Second Life History Wiki.

So what benefit do you gain from kicking people off your Camping Chairs?

I camp quite a bit, setting it up before I go to bed or before I come into work. I have several Landmarks to good/decent camping places. The Landmark for anyplace that kicks me off the chair after a short period of time is immediatly deleted and I don't return to that location.

That being said, if you still want the script you should probably post in the "Products Wanted" forum, since you are wanting more than just some help making your own script.

Hi Cheery,
Keep sl Live!
What possible twist of mind could justify bots and alts and overnight AFKs I cannot imagine. Where is the benefit of that to the people who build and maintain sl?

Why do I bother to place camping gear?
Answer: To encourage live players, to meet, chat and establish relationships/communities.
To encourage entreprenuerial activity, develop commercial models which are based on social interaction. But most of all to enable people to grow, develop and explore the world of sl.

Some people think it is fair to have 10 or 20 bots/alts, then place them all over camping gear . This exploit is unfair to the majority of visitors who cannot then use the camp sites.
Undesireables are not easy to spot, apart from a number of avatars whoose names were sdjflksdjf or uwegchb or owuiyewbhcjsdf.....
The owners couldnt even be troubled to give them names, Pretty dumb huh!

In responce I have made a script that prevents alts, bots, and long term AFKs from clogging up the flow of L$ to people who actually play the game. It unsits them and they can only return after others have used the camp spot (many thanks to the script forum and contributers)

So my advice is keep up the good work,

To encourage entreprenuerial activity,

not that I advocate Bots... or even camping for that matter, which is why I choose not to address the OP's dilemma.... but you gave yourself the answer... people making use of an available resource to gain income.... it's very entreprenuerial =)
