Well I built a sorta Solar System at the house and just thought I would pop in here for any scripting ideas or really any ideas but since most of the building and texturing are done I decided here would be the best place... If you get a chance or just wanna come check it out it's near the top right corner of the Pero SIM at my house... Trust me... Once you get fairly close you can't miss it... It's above my house... Just any ideas would be welcome... Thanx again...

May be You could work out the real times it takes for each of the planets in the solar system to orbit the sun (~365 days for earth) and how long it takes for each of the planets to spin around 360 degrees (~1 day on earth). I haven't seen the setup yet but if you have moons as well, you could research even further and find out how long it takes for each of the moons to orbit their respective planets.
Then take all of this info and start scripting rotations and orbits so that everything spins and orbits as it would in real life then find a good "global" speed at which it all moves at an "interesting" speed. You don't want it to move in real-time because that would be worse than watching grass grow.. but then you don't want it to move so fast that it feels "wrong" either.
If you can get all the relative rotations and orbits correct, it should be wonderful with a very real possibility of it becoming featured on the SL website.

Move it in SL time! Yeah, I know it would be impossible, with the skewed night/day ratio, but maybe you could approximate?

This seems interesting. Couldn't you make it so that 1 second is a day? That wouldn't be too horrible, and you could definitely notice the movement of everything.

Ask YadNi or myself for a copy of my mini solar system. I pulled the textures for the planets off sites like www.nasa.gov. The nice thing is the way sphere textures work in Second Life perfectly negate the "warping" factor on the planet images, making things look quite nice straight off the page.
