Changing Transparency

I work on UNO's island and we're working on a global warming model. Right now we have a bunch of prims covering the land that was already there made to look like ice. To make it look like the ice is melting, I was wanting to make a script that made the objects more and more transparent. Am I able to change this through scripting? Or do I have to kill and rez new objects that are more transparent than the previous one?

You can change the transparencies of all the prims simultaneously with a script. See the LSL wiki description of llSetAlpha.

If the prims are all linked together, you can use llMessageLinked to communicate the change in transparency. If not, you'll need to have the master script chat to each prim script on a private channel.

You can also use llSetLinkAlpha to set the child's alphas.
