Maybe. If the little "cone" shaped light things can be tapered half-dimpled cylinders, they could llTargetOmega(<0,0,1>, 1, 1) or something like that and should rotate smoothly client-side while being linked as child prims in an assembly.

The unfortunate bit is that trying to get multiple child prims synchronized with llTargetOmega() never works. They always wind up being a little off. My suggestion for doing this would be to replace the bit that is to rotate with a single sculpted prim.

In the Library, there is a script called Regular Timer. It can make multiple objects perform an action simulataneously.

In the Library, there is a script called Regular Timer. It can make multiple objects perform an action simulataneously. Even if you are very, very careful with this, I think you will find that the rotations are slightly off. Not just in start time, but in rotational speed. I tried to create multi-blade propellers like this before sculpties came along. It just doesn't wind up working quite like you'd want it to. If you do manage it, I'd love to be proven wrong though. Maybe there's been an enhancement or defect fix of some sort that allows it. |
