About The Vessel In Question...
The Prim Reaper is a single linked airship made of around 120-150 prims. It uses SetPos movement (nonphysmobile). It has an open top deck. This upper deck has six seats placed around the edges. It's primary purpose is to launch a combat variant of my rocketbike, but I would like to also make it a gunship by adding anti-aircraft guns.
WHAT I NEED:: The ideal turret will appear to be a part of the ship. It will move with ship. It will work regardless of placement and default rotation. Controlling avatars will be sitting on the ship, near the turrets. It would use mouselook tracking for better speed and be capable of different firing modes such as fireworks(harmless), push, damage, etc, etc controlled by the WASDEC keys. It would have an emergency cutoff function built in.
What I have now: Mouselook turrets that work when standing, and work for people besides me when sitting. (I can't be sitting down or they cease to work.) I also don't have a way to make them move with the ship.
I will be in-world on and off during the day. If you have something that works, I don't mind beta-testing until it works correctly. I will pay you when I"m satisfied it operates correctly. If I do manage to get special ordered ships, you will receive a comission based on the amount of turrets that ship has.
IM me, email me at deadpan@gmail.com. Yes,I'd be willing to wait until tomorrow at the latest.

Due to prim limits on anything physics, you may want to reconsider having the turret be attached to your vessel. Instead, simply create a point defense type turret system where the turret is a small vehicle that autofollows the mothership at a set offset. It's flight system would largely consist of moving to that static point near the mothership and you could allow it to mouselook in whatever direction for shooting. Further, you could easily have different types of turrets, or given them different features, or make them automated to some degree when not piloted and so on.

I said that the turrets would not actually be linked. They would follow using setpos and stay relative to the ship, but hopefully in a way where they would seem attached

well, since no one's even bothered to IM or post, you might have the job.
But it's not a job, it a 'whoever brings me the best fooking solution', not necessarily first, but whichever one works best.

I may have a workable solution that lets you do all the required things you listed, and still has the turrets linked to the ship. I'll look into this further then get back to you if it is practicable.

Okay. I'm out until possibly as late as midnightSLT. The turrents don't necessarily need to be linked, but could follow/sync with the ships movements (for more complex turrets). But if you can link the sucker, that'd be cool. I'm looking at adding some kind of Authorized User Key system to prevent other 'pirates' from boarding and taking over my vessel and/or making off with any subvehicles. The Prim Reaper can currently be found in Menagerie (10,100) at around 500m if anyone wants a gander at it. Note. Don't hesitate to shoot a woman named Zoey Jade on sight. user her for practice if she crosses in range.
