Screaming prim on camera proximity (no camera tracking involved)

A friend of mine claims he saw a prim that would scream or play a sound when your camera passes into the owner's property.
This does not request permission to track your camera or anything like that and for the life of me I still can't see how it could be possible.

Any thoughts/hints/tips?

I think a bot could do it - there's something in the viewer (IIRC) that'll show you the look-at targets nearby. Don't see anyway an LSL script could do it, tho.

Shyeah! The only conceiveable way should be if you give it permission to track your camera position.

But this definitely a prim, not a bot. I'm very quickly concluding my friend has lost his mind.

You CAN do this WITH ANOTHER VIEWER and a plugin/script that sends other agents camera to your viewer and that directly to a script WITHOUT asking for camera tracking permissions since early 2008.

Same thing as a bot, IMO, though 'cyborg' might be a better term.

Either way, it can't really be done in plain ol' LSL.

Anyone know which viewer/plugin script would be required?

confine spatialized sound (or whatever the land option is now) and just have the prim scream all the time you aren't there =X

IIRC sound is heard from camera position by default, av position by option.

Ah, a way to deter folks from camming in to your property.

Anyone have any more light to shed on this?

I think it's more likely that this prim was constantly screaming, just quietly, and obviously you can hear it when the camera is close.

I don't. The idea behind it was to deter people from looking into your house/property. A quiet orb would do jack shit even if the person 'perving' was too stupid to mute their sounds.
