I just posted a jira, http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3122, requesting that LSL scripts get access to search.secondlife.com.

In /54/1b/225692/4.html#post2160594 I asked whether anybody is making an external reflector service available for this, but really, that's the long way around the barn, just introducing more traffic in and out of SL's internal network. (Eventually some do-gooder will no doubt bump this down from a bug to a feature request, but maybe they'll bestir themselves to add a comment when they do.)

Does anyone know of a valid reason not to do this? Or care to cast a vote?

/me is tempted to vote but holds off for a bit, in case somebody has an obvious answer as to why LL disabled this route..
