Hi,

I was wondering how I can e-mail a vectore between objects

Think a call button that sends the buttons position to the elevator. The elevator comes and picks ther person up.

I use a touch_start to get the pos and email the position through the e-mail.

my elevator receives the e-mail, reads the vector from the subject line, then setpos to the new target position.

It's not working for me.

Can I get some advice, Thanks

Is the change over 10m? If so, setpos will only go 10m, and then stop.

The other option would be that you're not typecasting the vector properly somewhere so it's not getting transmitted and received correctly, or the email just isn't arriving.

Either post the scripts, or put lots of llOwnerSay() statements in there so you can see it's all working properly.

llOwnerSay is (unfortionatly) the best tool we have for debugging

Can anyone tell me how to typecast a Vector into a string then back to a vector again?

Judicious and thoughtful use of llOwnerSay() can be pretty powerful as a debug tool. It might not be quite what you want, but it's still powerful.

string temp = (string)<0.0, 1.0, 2.0>;

or

vector vec=<0.0, 1.0, 2.0>;
string temp=(string)vec;

or variations around that.

vector vec=(vector)subject;

or similar for your email subject line will do the typecasting.
