I've noticed that if you are flying in a vehicle that has you animated and you fly over land that has a maxed out object limit, WITHOUT warning you are ejected, the vehicle is returned to lost and found and you are stuck in the animation. Some times the client will crash as you appear to sink into a -12000 meter void. Same is true for flying into retricted parcels. Anyone experiance this?

Anyone experiance this? Yep. It's ugly. I don't drive around very much due to that and sim-crossing mayhem (although the latter has gotten better with recent updates). _____________________

hello,
I have had better luck using non physical scripted vehicles as opposed to physical which the full parcel issues really seems to effect. in other words the parcel cant accomadate your physical vehicle. the non physical vehicles seem to skate thru the issue but are still subject to ban parcels and some sim wall issues. hope that helps |

Well, non-physical ships aren't exactly safe either. I've test-flown one of my team's non-phys ships around the sim we work in now, and I've had it 'explode' upon hitting a parcel that was full. Now by explode, I mean that it unlinked, fell partially apart somehow(some parts moved forward for a time while the rest stopped), and got returned in pieces leaving part of the ship that had not crossed into the parcel yet just floating in space.
If you're concerned about being stuck in the animation, you can just rez the ship and sit/stand in it to stop it, or by using a stop all animations method. |

Alternatively, stick to Linden-owned land/routes.
I've mapped out three out of the four (soon to be five) mainlands: http://www.nandnerd.info/map.php _____________________

Thanks for the great comments. what would be a neat function if there is a way to scan ahead for parcel conditions, like retricted or full parcels. Even worse parcels that have short auto returns. You can be hovering over parcels and then get booted into the auto return. This way you can create a separate scan script than at least warns you of conditions up ahead.
Doesn't seem hard to do but obviously moving faster then how fast indivual sim servers can lock on your data is always going to cause wierd things to happen. |
