Is anyone else having recent issues with XMLRPC calls now taking 90-120 seconds rather than the usual 10-15 seconds? And upstream requests timing out after 30?
And is XMLRPC really going dead? With nothing to replace it that can raise events and send data to scripts besides e-mail? And llHTTPRequest gets throttled if too many.
Why won't LL provide a high speed simple efficient object to object inter-sim call that can handle 256 bytes with no throttling?

Yes, I too am having problems with excruciatingly slow XMLRPC calls. Occasional periods of quick response, but mainly not. Scripts using XMLRPC have been working fine of late, but not now. Only 20k people on the grid at present, so not due to large number of residents online.
Found a Linden to help, who I believe has now passed on the problem report on to the grid team.

Glad you could find a Linden to help, as my requests to the online help were completely ignored (and that is usually not the case). Please let us know if you hear anything back on it.

The delays are probably due to heavy XMLRPC use, taxing the ONE xmlrpc.secondlife.com server used as the XMLRPC gateway.
No solution except a complete overhaul of the XMLRPC implementation.

I saw some posts at SLExchange that they were having issues as well. They claim LL confirmed the issue and has resolved it.

I can confirm that the issue is NOT resolved. Still getting very long delays -- between 30 secs and more than a minute.
Blah.

Surely it would make sense to introduce some permanent/temporary load bearing solution on multiple servers until XML-RPC is overhauled or otherwise.

It would make sense to do anything to alleviate it, but LL have already said that XML-RPC is basically deprecated, and they have no plans currently to do anything about it.
About the only solution is going to be polled llHTTPRequests, which introduces unnecessary extra load, but hey, at least they are consistent about things like this. (IE, get rid of the old before they have a real solution to replace it).

Response times: from less than 1 second to 1 minute and more. It broke my IRC gateway.
