I'm a yacht builder in SL and I'm working on a modified version of Jesrad Seraph's wonderful nonphys program for a submarine. I am trying to tie a roll (angle of rotation around the x-axis) change into the motion. So as the sub turns left or right, the sub will "lean" into the turn some.

The problem comes when I combine the two rotations. The resulting rotation is out of the x-y plane. It appears there needs to be a corresponding pitch (angle of rotation around the y-axis) change to keep the sub oriented in the x-y plane. Any ideas on how I might calculate this?
