I'm making a flower using two versions of sculpted prims (Large and Small petals). I then clone them twice each to create a lily. And strange thing happened. Even though neither the prims nor the texture maps consist of alpha they seem to suffer from the "transparency bug" ie, prims overlapping even when they have some distance apart. The viewer can't seem to determine which object supposed to be in the front or back. (see Pictures show correct and overlapped view.)
Is this a known issue? And is there anyway to get around it?
Thanks.
P.S. Apologies, wrong forum. I misread the forum title as "sculpting tips". I'd appreciate it if the mod could remove it. I'll repost in the appropriate location.

I'll contribute a small suggestion despite the misplacement. Are you certain the textures don't have an alpha channel? It is not sufficient to make the textures 100% opaque everywhere; the format should not have an alpha channel at all, as in a JPEG instead of a 32-bit TARGA/PNG.

Thanks for your reply Hewee. I reposted here: /8/cf/249683/1.htmlI kind of figured it out in the end but I think people should be warned about the PNG issue. Many tutorials I came across somehow imply that PNG and Targa create exactly the same effects, which is clearly not true. I'll need to rework on quite a few textures now as the result. Well, you live and learn
