I have been trying to use the VEHICLE_FLAG_MOUSELOOK_STEER option in the LSL vehicle code but for reasons that are beyond my imagination and understanding it does not work and my vehicle does not turn.

I tried using AIRPLANE, BALLOON and CAR as vehicle types without success, I tried adding VEHICLE_FLAG_CAMERA_DECOUPLED (no difference), etc...

In some cases strafing left and right also makes the vehicle turn left and right though it should not.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

I remember friction coming into play. But this memory is from when mouse steering was new.

I've tried playing with angular friction too, setting it high or low and it made no difference :( Thanks anyway.

I'll be able to help, but i can't give you any example scripts, since all the mouselook vehicle scripts i have right now are heavily modified to suit my needs.. But i will be able to supply good values for decoupled mouselook, and a few tips about which control values to use, if nothing else.

But if aiming the vehicle to ease weapon control is not a big issue with your vehicle, normal mouselook steering should do fine as well.

IM me ingame if you're interested :)

OK I found what was wrong: the ANGULAR_MOTOR changes function when MOUSELOOK_STEER is set, instead of moving the vehicle it indicates how fast it turns to follow the mouse.
