Hi all.
After an interlude of enforced abscence I have returned to SL to continue with some projects, one of these was a moving vehicle (monorail) which was working just fine previously.
The vehicle is physics enabled, and "did" work just fine using a routine to turn it around corners etc.
However now - the vehicle constantly tips up at the front or the rear and is amazingly unstable as the vehicle gets larger _ie: I've deconstructed it down to a block and then added parts to make it into a vehicle...
Has LSL physics suddenly started to take weight/mass into account and if so how does one negate that or failing that - in the period of abscence has the movement using non phsics vehicles improved past the juddering point?
Best regards
Erwin

Hope you aren't testing it in Beta. Physics are totally screwed there right now. Still alot of work to be down to get Havoc 4 ready for grid. I might even suggest not killing yourself on the physics until we see what Havoc 4 does when it hits MG.

I had a most interesting conversation this evening with another scripter who advised the same thing. Interestingly this phenomonem appears to have been created when i created a "heavier" model. I now need to brush up on the physics to see how i can get around certain issues - like if theres a "light" way to do things Erwin

Just out of curiosity have you tried using:
llSetStatus(STATUS_ROTATE_X | STATUS_ROTATE_Y, FALSE);
so that it doesn't tip or rise?

Amazingly yes, I was reading the wiki and found that - pushed it in and bingo! Now the vehicle simply "dips" between waypoints - thats easily cured by adding more waypoints However a vehicle that was previously too heavy now works great (and looks sooo cool!) I just wish there was a way to avoid the highlighting - stop issue cos that puts the stoppers on the project - its a bit of a show stopper! Erwin
