GUI interface for SL logon

Has anyone given thought to making a GUI command line interface for starting up SL? I am no programmer but I am thinking it can't be real hard to make. What I have in mind is this:

Single SL icon on the desktop, you click it and a window opens and a GUI interface opens similar to Winamp. It has buttons you can click that you can set up to load different avatar accounts. It simply adds "-login User Name Pasword" to the SecondLife.exe command line and launches SL, skipping the login screen.

The real power of the GUI would be the ability to specify SL urls (as in //sim/x/y) on the command line to bypass the flawed tp system and log in within flying distance of your goal. If your tp failed, you could exit SL, click on the GUI's nice shiny "Teleport" button that would have a drop down menu of previous locations entered or manually enter the sim and optionally the x and y coods (128x128 if not defined) and be logged on and whisked to that sim when the GO! button is pushed.

Other functions would be to add -multiple on the command line to allow multiple instances of SL, designate ports for multiple instances and multiple computers (-port 13001 for example) plus the ability to add other command line options as needed.

Lastly, the ability to change skins would be really neat but not a priority.

It would be great if something like this could be available for not only windows but Mac and Linux as well.

It may be posable to emulate passed by value in a command line, but if the app dosen't directly support pass by value. It's actually a very anoying thing to impliment. this is really some thing that belong in the sl sugestions forum.

I found a freeware program called SlickRun that is sort of what i am looking for. You type in a short word description and it starts the program and you can add whatever parameters you want. I set mine up to send me to my home sim with 1kath, my store's sim Kane with 2kath. (my alt's name) for my alt's account. I type in a couple of characters and it autocompletes, hit enter and I am in game, presto.

It's convienent for me but it would be a real pain for, let's say, my mom for instance, to set up and use. I want a GUI interface so I don't have to spend an hour on the phone explaining how to set it up then drive 200 miles to do it for her anyway.

As for putting it here instead of SL suggestions is simple, this is such a easy, simple thing to do for someone with a little time on their hands and wants to help a lot of folks play the game better. I may very well be dead and buried before SL gets around to making something like this.

how does one get the //simname/x/y trick to work from a command line as opposed to from the browser's address field?

You put " -url secondlife://sim/x/y" ( the space in front of the -url is important) after the Secondlife.exe" in the target

Oh, and use '%20' for spaces in the sim name, ie

-url secondlife://Island%20Sandbox/128/128

(at least on WinXP)
