Targeting with mouselook...

So I'm working on a water pistol, using particles versus a bullet. All works fine but for one detail: the crosshairs for mouselook are not the tip of the weapon. Is there any good way to adjust this so that I'm not firing low and to the left?

much like RL your going to have to sight in your weapon. Place a disk on the ground to stand on, marking a consistant firing position. Then set up a target at the guessimated average target range. Stand on your position marking disk take aim and fire. Note where the particles hit. Now use edit to adjust the position of the gun in your hand, if it hits low and left adjust the gun up and to the right( very small movements here so i would use the numbers in the rotation box's). just keep repeating this till you get the particles targeted where you want them. Knowing that if the next target is closer or further from you the particles will be slightly off and you will have to compensate .

Have fun :)

Problem is, it doesn't seem to work like a weapon, per se. The particles from from the top of the weapon and all, but don't at all line up with the crosshair -- nor does there seem to be any way to offset it to make it actually match up unless the water pistol is over and above my right shoulder.

You won't be able to get it to line up, as animations come into play and there's no way to detect where on the body the object is with regards to animations.
