SL Map API

Not a LSL question but I though this would be my best place to catch the right target audience (i.e. you). I've managed to rewire my Linden Land map using the Google Map API which replaced the old one (though I didn't hear about it, my map was just suddenly broken ). I took the time to improve somewhat and managed to use markers to place my overlay (originally it was a div which was positioned over the map div).

I'd like to take this one step further and allow for zoom too but if I modify my code to allow for zoom the markers keep their size relative to the screen and don't resize with the zoom/map. Any ideas how to resize the markers with the zoom or implement a proper overlay? I know the Google Map API has an overlay feature but cannot get it to play nice with the SL mapapi.
