communicate to prim anywhere in sim?

Im currently using llWhisper to communicate to my mobile prim from a HUD prim. However, the prim could be anywhere in a sim(island). Is there a recommended way to communicate between these 2 prims that aren't linked, therefore no lMessageLinked()?

The project Im working on relies on near instant communication, so external llHttpRequest and the XML-RPC methods are out of the question as well.

If the communication is simple (and preferably one-way), then you might consider some alternative ways to send messages per this wiki entry:

http://www.lslwiki.com/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=AlternativeCommunications

The only other way I can think of is to build shout repeaters within the island. You will need to be careful not to create infinite shout storms with such an arrangement, however (not difficult, just use two channels to support 'out-of-band' signalling between the repeaters.)

What information needs to go which way? Is the rezzed-in-world prim going to stay out all the time? Is it going to be in the same place all the time?
