Yesterday I started SL (for the first time) and had some fun. Today, I got this error saying the client is already started. I already pgrep-ed for "secondlife" (and any possible combinations of those words) but came up with nothing. Which process do I need to kill to be able to start SL again?
PS : Restarting my computer is NOT an option. I have several important things going on here, which I'd have to start all over if I restarted.

Darn. I don't know. I run Linux (Fedora 9) and haven't run into this, at least when there hasn't been an obvious 'secondlife' process of some kind executing. I believe the one you really want to look for is 'do-not-directly-run-secondlife-bin'. If you can't find that... Try the Linux Client Testers forum, where you're more likely to find someone who's run into the same problem: /263/1.html
