Well I have done some research in the forums about this (not too much information about it), but I have read that it's not impossible...but assuming difficult...
I'm starting a project that involves making an object appear to be animated when in use...more specifically, an animal. Would be nice for the legs to "animate", or maybe other body parts to make it more realistic...
Is there a script that makes it possible for a certain prim on an object to "relocate" to another position to make it seemed animated? <-----if you don't understand this, please forgive me...I'll try to explain better...
Also with this kind of project I'm assuming that this will cause lag...
P.S. If anyone can think of alternatives, that would be helpful too *high hopes*

Not necessarily, but this is the basis of my secret project that I have yet to completely finish. IM me in-world and I'd be glad to help you with something like this in its current form, though. Oh, and knowing how to create a .BVH file is a plus for this.

I dont pretend to be anywhere near as smart as Jeffrey, but I've seen soemthing like this already. My IW wife has a spider (free to copy) that moves about on it's own. The legs basically go up in down as it's moving (it never stops tho), and it realistic enough to be creepy. I would think with more of a bi-ped or human subject you could simply wait for the movment event and make the legs llSetRotation back & forth. It would be clunky looking to be sure but it could probably be refined from there Good luck!

Thank you so much for the replies. Jeffrey, I'll be sure to IM you when I can, I need all the help I can get. I have basic knowledge of making .bvh files from Poser and moderate programming skills, so I hope that things will go smoothly. Synergy, I have seen those spiders before, but I don't think I noticed the legs, lol, I was too creeped out from the spider itself, I'll have to look at it again (from a distance). Thank you for the tip!
