I'm designing some cool items for the dance floor, but have not been able to figure this one out - how do you attach an object to nearby avatars?
I am able to detect the avatars and make lists of them, but unlike setting an animation on someone else (which obviously requires their permission), the wiki for llAttachToAvatar says:
"Even though users other than the owner can grant this permission, attaching to them will fail with the message "Script trying to attach to someone other than owner!"
Is there no way to attach to others? Or is there another technique I should be using?
Thanks in advance for your help!

An object must belong to a person in order to attach to that person...attachments always belong to the person wearing them.

OK, so perhaps maybe what I should be doing instead is rezzing a tiny "follower" that would do what I need? (which is running some particle effects).
