Making realistic fire

Ok I'm stumped after hours of searching here and googling in RL...
Can someone point me in the right directrion on how to create fire? I've assumed I'll need a photorealistic texture of fire with an alpha channel -- I've got that -- and that I'll have crossed prims. But the script?

Thanks!

For the fire prim itself I'd look into llAnimateTexture(...) commands. and also look into a particle effects system for the smoke and secondary fire effects with llParticleSystem(...).

There are lots of free "Particle Engines" for you to play around with your particle system with, as well as the Particle Labratory on the main grid as well (just search for "Particle Laboratory";).

The function is working perfectly fine. It's just not working the way you wanted it to work.

One of the lindens made an all perms fireplace that is worth pulling apart and learn how it is made. If you im me in world I will give you one, but it is contained in a few freebie packs.

Jopsy Pendragon is very approachable and helpful with particle scripts. Again if you im me I will give you a copy of my adaptation of it running in my house in Explorers Rangeland (check my profile)
