I need to know if there is anyway to make your avatar walk up and down walls. Is this possible? I am REALLY new and need help with this.

Your avatar will walk - with difficulty - up just about anything that isn't perpendicular to the ground. It will, however use an upright walking stance.

If you are looking at something like spider-man style climbing, you will need to get into vehicle scripts, animations, and so on. Not recommended for your first project.

Good luck.

Wouldn't the code to do this be pretty similar to those rollerskate/skateboard scripts? You might want to look into that...

I'm not sure how well the physics engine would handle a horizontal avatar. From what I can tell, bounding boxes don't precisely match animations.

I havent tried it yet, but was thinking of this.

If you want to make your own avatar climb any wall in the game, you are on your own.

If you want to make a single wall climbable, link prims in the wall which are sittable - but which give a suitable climbing animation to the avatar on the wall, and which take controls.

The hidden prims should then be able to adjust their position up and down as the player climbs/walks on the wall.

Its on my to-do list to try this out... long list though.
