I posted this in the wrong forum..duh..but i was wondering if anyone knew how to script a slave collar...i roleplay in Gorean sims, and was wondering how to get a script to have the owner already locked in, and also to have the script display the individual's name on the collar.
I would like to learn how to do this on my own, but I have no idea how to start. Any tips would be great!

I guess the best way to do this is with a notecardcall. The notecard itself will have to b placed in the collars content as a sort of config. I'm not exactly sur about the howto's couse I'm figuring out this subject too.
I wish you goodscripting

TBH I'd reccomend buying a scripted collar, or the scripts for a scripted collar.

Amethyst (Sensations sim) sells the individual scripts (althugh for that you would lose the naming functionality ) and collars in a few styles ( which include the ability to label the collars).

There is a LOT of work in a scripted collar, especially if you do your own animations etc. and as such, initially at least, get a quality scripted one ( Ame's are the most popular scripted collars - based on the amount I see around sims ).

If you really want to script your own collar then you'll need to be very experienced and know how to handle (as a minimum) Particles ( for leashes ), sensors ( for leash lengths ), AO's ( for things like crawling ), animations including making them ( for poses ) and inter prim communication. Plus, advisadly, understand the Lockmeister protocol.

other choices for premade collar scripts are Xcite (which also sells prebuilt ones) and Kyra Abbatoir sells similar products, as does Amy Stirling (KDC and Amy's Attic respectively.... I Think)

if you are looking to build you own, the general setup for most of these uses a script reset on OWNER_CHANGED, and defaults to a short series of dialogs to get information (gender, master(s) names, etc) and also gets animation permissions, (for various poses) and genearlly uses some kind of listen to get commands from (master name) or (sub/slave) name..... leashes generally use some sort of particle system, and generally target a handle (owned by the "master";) .... follow uses llMove2target I believe... as for naming, you can either get the wearers name with llGetOwner or use a listen+dialog to have it set to anything.... for geting the letters to show, look up XyText in the lsl wiki

EDIT: SHAMELESS PLUG
if you need more than 12 buttons(why I don't know) and/or want to keep the order on them in llDialog, I posted a nice little function here, that can take care of that for you

Yes, having just finished scripting my own collar (shameless plug: Dari's Haus), I can tell you it's pretty complex, especially if you have a lot of features. There are many, many scripted collars available, unless you intend to go into the retail market with it, it's much simpler to just buy one. :)

Ugh..so much scripting work! lol. I have bought a script, i just wish that it had the naming thing and such. I can modify them or anything..which sucks.

Thanks again!

some of the above listed vendors have naming included in their scripts (and those cute little bells, I love those)

I only wish I could find a tru masters Collar; Spec:

Coded by the owner to a single owner
Second owner with limited access, Nadu, leash etc.,
Second owner is a group? that possible?
Labelled by the owner with a name
Copyable and trans so it can be given to a Slave
Slave can use anims on a channel but not change owner or label

In short. A Collar that a master can have to collar a slave for a City for instance, or another master. Or a City Collar that the Guards can use but the city remains owner?

Been looking for this weeks now. If you have an answer IM me in-world with a cost.
