I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere already. From the blog: From: someone LSL changes: * Scripts will not start running until the “Running” box is manually checked
Can someone explain how this works, if they'e experienced it in the preview grid? Here's how I'm reading this - If I drag a script from inventory into a prim, I have to open it up and check the 'Running' box before it'll start running. Is that correct? If yes, then that'll help with objects that like to run away, but it'll be a bit of a pain for objects that have lots of scripts in them.

Do you have to have mod rights to a script to set it to runnig?

It seems that both new scripts and scripts dragged into a prim are set to running in 1.12. Not sure what this release note was all about.
In related news, now clickign 'new script' immediately creates and saves a "New Script" into the inventory of an object, and immediately starts it running -- so it says "Hello, Avatar!" and you have to open it manually. There's no mention of this in the release notes at all, and it seems pretty stupid. I wonder if there was a purposeful reason for this.

It looks like they are talking about Holding down Ctrl and dragging it onto the object. In which that case it will not be running. But I thought that was always the case.
Not sure I like how the default script starts running right away when you click new script. then you have open it. I would assume you mean to edit a script when you click new script. gah! Why didn't I test this in 1.12.
