uncooperative avatar

my avatar will not perform scripts. is this a function that i inadvertantly turned off?

no wine drinking, no opening of mailboxes etc, no cake eating.. ??

Is it that no scripted things at all will run for you anywhere, even if scripts are aloowed on that land?

Or is it that you aren't able to touch anything? If it's the touch thing, does it persist if you remove all attachments? (and if an attachment is in the way, right-click touch might work even if left-click touch is being suppressed)

a person standing next to me can touch something and perform the script. so the land is set to run scripts.

I can right click and select touch. I got an error message saying that "does not pass filter"

There can be a lot of reasons for that. If the object is scripted to only work for that person then it will. You can touch it all you want but it will only work for them if it was created to do so.

Also, if the other person owns the land they will be allowed to run scripts where you would not be able to if scripts are disabled. Possibly...

Or, you are touching your computer screen rather then using the mouse Just kidding. I doubt, or rather, I hope that you aren't doing this.

my friend in my group created a box with notecards in it. when she right clicks it, there is an option for OPEN. when i right click that option is not there.

another person right clicked and got open. I do not see OPEN !!!

so frustrating, i own the land, it is group land. mabye because she put the item there? but then why can her husband open?

Something strange is definitely going on with Open. I just tried it with a box created by an alt. It took almost a minute for the Open option to show up in the pie menu, but it eventually showed up.

'Open' is probably broken. I changed all my note card givers to 'open' until I found out they only worked for me and not for my costumers!

What viewer are you using? Also, is it possible you might have a HUD attachment on? A transparent HUD attachment covering your whole screen could definitely be a problem for mouse interaction with the SL world.
