I'm trying to send an offline message to the owner of object when someone pays it. I have tried using LLInstantMessage but this only works if the avatar is online and I need it to work when the avatar is offline...just like when another avatar sends an you an IM when you are offline..when you log on you can view your offline msgs. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Thanks for your help :)

According to the Wiki, llInstantMessage should send them the message even if they're offline. When they log on, it shows up in the normal chat window, not in an IM window.

It will work just fine like that but only if the avatar is set to receive IMs to email when offline.

you could bypass the IM to email and send a summery report every hour directly to email.
I do that with all my devices, to a gmail account, so i can read them anywhere any time and even massage the data in excel or google apps.

IM's from objects are just like IM's from agents, keep it in mind 'cause they're affected by the IM cap, etc (:
